You could have heard a pin drop during last night's United Military Care's red-carpet premiere of Robert Craig Films movie, No Address. The theater was full of everyday Americans and a few true heroes ready to open their hearts and light the way for Georgia's Veterans.
Premiere goers were treated to a red carpet walk, pictures, interviews, and a movie that gut punches you with both joy and sadness. I strongly encourage everyone to take the time to see the movie - it will change the way you see homelessness. Every ticket sold gives 50% of the net proceeds to nonprofits helping those experiencing homelessness.
Drug addiction, gambling, domestic abuse, trafficking, and war that didn't stay on the battlefield were the scenarios as the root cause of the character's homelessness. They were all true stories told by Robert Craig Films.
You can look up locations where the movie is being shown here. Listen to the soundtrack in your car through Spotify, or Amazon. If Ashanti's single "Bonafide Survivor" doesn't get you, I don't know what will.
The night was flanked with the Inaugural Hearts for Georgia's Veterans awards where five outstanding individuals received recognition for their contribution in lighting the path for those who served.
Awardees were Jan Apo, Mike Reynolds, Debbie Ginocchio, Jim Lindenmayer and Edgar SMOKE Rosa.
Bottom line: GO see this movie and take a friend! Remember, not everyone experiencing homelessness is a drunk, or there because they make bad choices.
Thank you to everyone who supported our event, go forth and do good!
